Some costume stuff I've done over the years
Photo courtesy brucecountycomicon.com, July 2024 Southampton Ontario, a fun little con I plan to return in some capacity. Note my friend's booth behind me, Nic Da Stick Creations.
Anime North 2024, my comfy Samurai/Ronin outfit with black hakama and kimono, with prayer beads by Nine Directions
Robin In The Hood Medieval Faire 2024, had waaay too much fun making people giggle while going as a Chanting Monk from Monty Python & The Holy Grail. Someone else showed up as the Invincible Knight, awesome.
Multicam airsoft gear, one of my main setups for gameplay - adding/removing different items based on weather and game modes, more often I'll wear a lighter chest rig.
TriCon @ THEMUSEUM, Kitchener 2023, David Hewlett from the Stargate franchise stopped by my Cosplay Repair table (look behind us to see a promo for The Hacksmith on the screen)
First attempt at a Jedi costume while running Cosplay Repair table at TriCon 2024
From 2006 onwards I was fond of cosplaying as Jayne Cobb from Firefly, even at DragonCon I picked up the nickname of Canadian Jayne. I've since retired this outfit, note that the "Vera" rifle is made out of a NERF blaster (and also retired from use at conventions).
A heartwarming Moment from Toronto Trek/Polaris 2007, after I went on stage showing my Jayne Cobb costume - the stage ninjas brought me back out to announce it's my birthday... and the audience joined in singing happy birthday, memories. :)
And keeping with the theme, here's Adam Baldwin (the actor who played Jayne Cobb) literally pulling me into his interview at Polaris 2011.
TriCon 2024, a one-off attempt at classic Scorpion from Mortal Kombat, photo by convention staff (note the foam dagger and cord thrown towards camera).
March 2024, mini photoshoot at Hacksmith Industries in Cambridge with new xenopixel lightsaber set on flashblade, nifty effect caught on camera.
Another pic from the same shoot, but with the lightsaber set to green and wearing the robe I made with about $30 in materials from Lens Mill in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada (Eh!) Note the reflections from the blade with the GalaxyS9 phone used as a camera, still turned out ok. Another shout-out to XtraLifeTG for the quality xenopixel lightsaber (Luke Ep6).

Alternate ALIENS Colonial Marine outfit but with multicam gear and airsoft M41 2017.
CooooBraaaa!!! Cobra Trooper costume, made with blue coveralls, Krylon for Plastic on helmet, and knockoff SADF vest from KW Surplus.
My 2008 ALIENS Colonial Marine costume that I assembled from a kit and painted with a pattern similar to Swedish M90 fractal Camo. The camera on the helmet does live video (similar to the 1986 film). This has since been retired as I no longer use firearm replicas in costumes at events (I only use airsoft at airsoft locations).
A one-off Resident Evil Racoon City PD SWAT concept at Anime North 2017. Note the painted NERF blaster.
Something fun from ConCept Montreal 2007, we got the biggest laugh and reaction from this quick skit. My costume only cost around $5 in materials from Dollarama (just watch the vid, it's quick and to the point).
JAWS! Something fun I did for a James Bond themed work event in 2016, strands of telephone wire inside plastic covers to make it seem I'm chewing through cable.
Cobra Trooper, early attempt with cheaper dollar store kneepads and a less sturdy utility belt. NERF toy painted black.
My last day at NCR prior to the Waterloo location being shut down, I dressed as 'The Terminated'.
One of the later versions of Snake-Eyes I put together prior to retiring this as well. Made my first one in 1999 and kept developing it through the years, this was about 20 years later.
Great shot of me playing airsoft at Flag Raiders opening early 2019. I'm wearing a full face protective mask painted green and camo netting on top - was very effective camo for a hiding spot until I got spotted after taking out a dozen or so opposing players.
ConBravo 2018, first attempt at mobile cosplay repair using reworked coyote brown gear and camo from airsoft. A little overdoing it, the backpack held a UPS to power the industrial strength hot glue gun (which came handy to repair a TF2 Gatling prop)
Mobile Cosplay Repair v.2 at Robin In The Hood festival 2023, a lighter and brighter loadout with usb rechargeable hot glue gun and various other tools and equipment. Note the custom yellow and black velcro backed patches.
Mobile Cosplay Repair Operator v.1 in development during the pandemic, a test run of the original idea. Note that the utility belt was removed from subsequent version.
YipYip Martians at ConBravo 2019, my friend and I had way too much fun with these, brought so many smiles... good times.
A favourite photo of mine from Toronto Trek 16, 2002 at the Regal Constellation Hotel (RIP). For many years I contributed to safety at that convention and also have countless fond memories, here I am getting into the act and getting killed on the job. The security team wore red shirts like the original series, but also with bullseye on the back.
A little fun during the 'toilet paper shortage' recreating a clip from Scarface...
The man himself, Larry Hama and me dressed as possibly his most famous creation: Snake-Eyes from GIJOE.
DragonCon 2008, getting floored again during another one of our colony sweeps (note the legendary carpet).
Firefly, the Cobra Saboteur from 80s GIJOE, a semi WIP that I keep playing with.
Shipwreck from 80s GIJOE, from 2009, maybe?
Storm Shadow, Cobra Ninja, Toronto Trek 17, 2003. I just went ahead and did this after an idea popped in my head and it ended up being quite the memorable and funny skit at the Costume Masquerade contest (I won something for it...)
Here's the video of that performance, many laughs were had.
Had to share this AESTHETIC shot of me at Warsoft Airsoft from Spring 2022. M81 Woodland camo, Blackhawk vest, pull over netting camo, M27 IAR configured for DM (airsoft).
